Then I ran Memtest86 for 45 minutes, it didn't find any errors (however, not sure if it completed the pass). I've run Windows Memory Diagnostic twice and it came up with no errors. Doh! I'm trying a few things, details below.įINAL EDIT: I suspect that setting Power management mode: Max Performance in the nVidia Control Panel for the Witcher 3 EXE fixed the issue as I haven't had a crash in a weeks time. Details below in thread.ĮDIT 4: Well, not long after posting this I had another crash.
WINDOWS MONITOR GOES TO SLEEP IN GAME WINDOWS 10
I need to run the SFC Command and reinstall Windows 10 to resolve it. The only significant change I've made to my system since release was upgrading to Windows 10, and I did that by wiping the computer completely and doing a clean install.ĮDIT 3: Appears I had corrupted files in Windows. I've never had this issue until about v1.10 of the game. Also, I've been playing the game on/off since release. Gigabyte P67 Motherboard (GA-P67A-UD3-B3)ĮDIT: I've made a list of things I've tried. * Run the game in Borderless Window mode. * Run the game in Windows 7 compatibility mode. Temps for CPU never get beyond 48'c and GPU 80'c in stress test.
WINDOWS MONITOR GOES TO SLEEP IN GAME INSTALL
* Reinstalling nVidia drivers using the clean install option. * Deleting all Witcher 3 user settings and reinstalling the game. So, I'm doubting this is a hardware issue. I've download the MSI Kombustor and run the CPU Burner and Core Burner GPU Stress test simultaneously for about 10-15 minutes without any issues. I just completed The Evil Within and had a single crash to desktop (CTD) over 20 hours of game time, so this issue has not happened with any other game thus far. I would say this bug happens about 50% of the time. However, it is inconsistent as I have been able to play without issue for hours. So, the bug appears to happen just as I'm opening the map, entering a dialog scene, or starting combat. If I had to guess, it seems like just after the current save is loaded, the game is continuing to load assets.
This happens within the first 5 minutes of a gaming session. I have to hard restart to get it working again. At random the game will put the monitor to sleep and my whole computer will become unresponsive. I'm at my wits end with Witcher 3 and what I assume are bugs.
